April 16th

Mi 809 to 958, 149 mi

We took the scenic route today. The A1A from Palm Beach to Miami, 30 mph speed limit! We gawked at the crowded coast line. Mansions so big we could only see the carriage houses through manicured jungle, giant mansions on display, towering condos and occasional low rent trailer parks and apartments. The highway meandered between the coast and the intercoastal waterway.

We ate at a funky little Cuban dinner full of locals and tried Cuban food in Miami!

Today was hot! Not liking heat so much when we’re trapped in Miami traffic. 60 miles in 3 hours! Google reported “heavy traffic, as usual”! We actually had to stop a few times to let the bike cool down. Wow, it’s only April!

We blew through the famous Miami Art Deco neighborhood and marveled at well preserved architecture.

We made it Key Largo and immediately caught the setting sun! It was beautiful.

I’m exhausted, overheated and then chilled as the sun goes down and I’m not even driving. Jay seams alive and invigorated!

We Ubered to bar called Sharkey’s and got dropped off in dark parking lot…then we wandered around the corner and found the local night life, and dinner.
